chauffeur, the company did long distant hauling, New York to Philadelphia, Frank was the mechanic, they had several trucks, I did the pickups with a small truck in the garment center and the wool district on fourth Avenue, it was a tough job with the traffic back in 1922. I got $25 a week for six days 8A.M. to 5:30P.M. the office was on 7th Ave & 21st St. and the garage at First Ave & 23rd St. the truck was a 2 cylinder Auto car with 10" air tires. I made a trip to Philadelphia it was good going on level road, on the hills you had to use first and second speed, I worked that day and made the trip at night it took about six hours, we had a few hours sleep and came back to New York.
